ALKEBU & ACLM Children Ministry Training

Mozambique, Drc Congo & Kenya

The ALKEBU Leadership Centre, in partnership with ACLM, is currently hosting a two-month Children Ministry Master Trainers Program in Nairobi, Kenya, which began on 7th February 2026.

The program has brought together 15 ministry workers—12 from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), 2 from Mozambique, and 1 from Kenya—who are being equipped as Master Trainers. Their mission is to return home and train other children’s ministry workers, multiplying the impact across their nations.

Purpose of the Training

The training focuses on strengthening children’s ministry by equipping leaders with:

• Child psychology and trauma awareness

• Effective teaching methods

• Structured children’s discipleship

• Practical outreach tools such as Bible Clubs

This initiative addresses a critical gap in many African churches, where children’s ministries often lack trained personnel and structured programs.

Key Highlights

• Participants overcame significant challenges, with some traveling for up to a week across borders to attend the training.

• Despite language barriers (Kiswahili, French, and Portuguese), the program has fostered unity and collaboration across cultures.

• Trainees successfully conducted a Bible Club outreach at Kenanie Primary School, demonstrating practical application of their learning.

Impact So Far

The training is already producing visible transformation:

• Increased confidence among trainees

• Improved teaching and ministry skills

• Cross-cultural relationships and collaboration

• A growing vision to impact children and communities back home

Participants have testified to personal growth and renewed belief that they can effectively minister and train others despite limitations.

Broader Impact

Beyond ministry, this program contributes to:

• Community healing through trauma-informed children’s ministry

• Regional collaboration among church leaders

• Long-term peacebuilding, especially in conflict-affected regions like the DRC

By equipping leaders to disciple children, the program is investing in a generation that will shape the future of their nations.

Conclusion

This training represents more than a single initiative—it is a multiplier movement. Each participant is expected to train many others, impacting hundreds of churches and thousands of children across Africa.

With continued support, ALKEBU envisions establishing regional training centres in Congo and Mozambique to expand this impact even further

“When I came here, I was afraid because I could not speak English. But when we went to the Bible Club and the children welcomed us, I realized that God can use me even with my limitations. I now believe I can train others when I go back home.”
Rachel from Congo
“In my country we love children, but we lack training on how to teach them well. This program is helping me understand children’s hearts and how the church can shape their future.”
